RoOUG TechSession #49

On June 14, 2022 the Romanian Oracle User Group prepared a new event dedicated to Oracle technology enthusiasts, developers, administrators or database architects.

This event will run during an evening session.

  • 18:00 – 18:15   Registration
  • 18:15 – 19:00   Andrei Manoliu – Oracle Machine Learning in Autonomous Database
  • 19:00 – 19:15   Socializing Break
  • 19:15 – 20:00   Piet de Visser – Partitioning, pitfalls + positives

Abstract presentations

Andrei Manoliu – Oracle Machine Learning in Autonomous Database Oracle Machine Learning accelerates the creation and deployment of machine learning models for data scientists by eliminating the need to move data to dedicated machine learning systems. With the introduction of Oracle Machine Learning Services with Oracle Autonomous Database, Oracle makes it easy for data science teams and application developers to manage and deploy machine learning models and use them on current applications. In this session, we use an Insurance dataset with the Oracle Machine Learning AutoML User Interface to create models predicting a customer Lifetime Value (LTV). Using the created models we can score data using the REST API with POSTMAN or CURL. Agenda

    • Oracle Machine Learning Overview
    • Oracle Machine Learning interfaces to Oracle Database
    • OML AutoML User Interface
    • OML Services

Demo Agenda:

    • How to create models using AutoML UI and Autonomous Database
    • How to score a model using OML Notebooks
    • How to score a model using OML Services and REST APIs

Piet de Visser – Partitioning, pitfalls + positives This presentation can help you to avoid problems when using Partitioning. The oneliner is: Simple Works Best. The experience (and 1st demo) is Oracle based,  but the 2nd demo will show that the same problems and solutions apply to PostgreSQL. Demonstrating both Successful and Erroneous usage of partitioning. But the real lessons are in the principles, and the correct understanding of partitioning.  Real benefits will only result of you can allow a correct, from-the-start design of the datamodel to incorporate partitioning. When used correctly, Partitioning will be a very effective tool to store and process very large, and often volatile sets of data in your database. The demo during the ppt will be straight-forward and simple.

The event will take place with support from BCR  in theit HQ – The Bridge 1- Șoseaua Orhideelor 15D, etaj 8, sala Auditorium.
